Feel Good Sports Physiotherapy - Equestrian Physiotherapy

Hilary Gooding is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist with a special interest in the (human) equestrian athlete. Prior to establishing her physiotherapy career, Hilary competed at state and national level. So she is excited to join her two passions together; sports physiotherapy and horse riding.

Much of the muscle contractions required for horse riding are isometric; meaning the muscle is working with no/minimal movement. This makes it difficult for many physiotherapists without an equestrian background to understand the physical requirements for the sport. Hilary’s level of understanding horse-rider aids and horse-rider position, plus her post graduate study into sports physiotherapy sets her apart from other physiotherapists.

Individualised exercise program can be implemented to improve your horse riding and/or manage injury. Appointments can take place ‘off horse’ within the clinic, or ‘on horse’ outside of the clinic. Travel cost applies to distances beyond 30mins. However, travel costs can be waived with multiple appointments. Please contact Feel Good Sports Physiotherapy to arrange an ‘on horse’ appointment, or book online to arrange an ‘off horse’ rider biomechanical assessment and progressive exercise program within clinic.
